Below is a picture of my CNC machine. The machine was purchased in Kit form from Fine Line Automation. Nate has free plans on his site, and also was very helpful in answering Questions. As a note, the machine itself runs about 1600$, and comes all pre drilled and tapped. All you need to add is an old PC with a parallel port, and the 3 stepper motors with electronics to drive them. There are many options for obtaining these. I bought my electronics from Probotix, when I had a much smaller machine, and just kept the electronics when I upgraded to this one. This is the kit I bought for electronics, I only upgraded to the higher 40 volt power supply, this is because it allows my machine to run faster.
Ok, enough about the machine. There are many types out there, you should find one that fits your budget and needs. Next lets look at the 3 pieces of software I use for creating and generating the GCODE files which will create our droid. NEXT SOFTWARE
